Hi Tori, It seems that many of us "aging" folks are getting replacements. I had a bad skiing accident 2 years ago and had to have surgery to rebuild my knee with titanium. It has been a really slow healing process. However, I've been mountain biking and I went skiing for the first time since my accident. One thing I used a lot prior to my surgery to help get the swelling down was ARNICA cream. I used a lot of that before I went to bed because I wasn't able to ice it down at night. Anyway, I was right where you are now. It was this time two years ago I was able to get out of my wheelchair and go for a little hike. I fully understand the process. Be patient with the process as I'm sure it is frustrating for such an adept martial artist as yourself. I've since moved from the Hood River area and now live in far Eastern Oregon. I remember that you have family in Portland these days. Kudos and take it one day at a day. Cheers!
Great to hear from a fellow Oregonian! Thanks for sharing. I've heard that knee replacements are much more challenging in recovery. This is my second hip replacement. So far, it seems to be going very well. :D I'm doing my best to enjoy the relaxation and more laid back Hawaiian-style pace!
First I NEED TO tell you how much I ENJOYED THE Ninja Daughter series., it was well written engaging and thoughtful , and a fun romance too.
I studied dance as a teen and took some karate in my early 20s , so I found the books fun and Natalie N a terrific reader.
I also, just had two total hip replacements , and recovery is always hard..I HAVE TOTAL REPLACEMENTS shoulder, knees hips, hand joints, fused foot , bla bla….its a pain….
I am an older horse woman , and getting my riding back and recovering from surgery in SEPT and DEC was really hard.
I am sure you ,have more, than got this.
Very best regards and looking forward to reading , listening to another one of your excellent reads.

REMARKABLY BRIGHT CREATURES by Shelby Van Pelt was my favorite book last year! SO much so that I bought the special edition of it!
I remember you telling me!!! 😁
So fabulous about the LA Times ink, Tori - congrats!
Thanks so much, Lisa❣
