The Ninja's Oath Free Virtual Book Club Event
Preorder and read early to discuss, one week after book launch
Aloha Reading ‘Ohana,
I hope you are finding pleasurable breaks in your busy lives to enjoy this beautiful summer. I just returned from visiting my granddaughter in Oregon where I worked very little and played a whole lot.
This was one of those rare trips when I didn’t have anything pressing to write. I had finished my Hawai‘i novel and sent it to beta readers. My short story was approved for the COMBAT MONSTERS anthology. THE NINJA’S OATH was off to the printers. And the articles for my book launch and this muse-letter could wait until I returned home.
I was able to be completely present and fully engaged.
I was also mindful enough to recognize the blessing and appreciate it as a gift. Although the writing gods may not clear my schedule for future trips, I’ll do my best to arrange my work schedule for the wee hours before the sun rises and my son’s family wake.
I posted a few highlights from my Oregon trip on my Instagram page, mostly of my adorable granddaughter and an AMAZING soft shell crab bun! I wish I had a shot of me paddle-boarding the Willamette River. Oh, how I would love to do that again.
Speaking of social media, is anyone else on Threads? I joined under the same writer.tori Instagram handle. It’s painful to let go of my 12.2K Twitter followers, but that platform seems doomed. I’m still acclimating to Threads, so I haven’t “threaded” much, yet.
What am I doing now?
I’m back in Los Angeles for a few days to catch up on work. Then I’m off to Ohio for the Columbus Book Festival for panels and author discussions, followed by a book signing at Barnes & Noble, Beavercreek in the Dayton area. If you are nearby on July 15 and 16, please drop by and say hello. (Details below.)
Things are getting exciting—and busy—as they always do this close to a book launch.
With only two months until THE NINJA’S OATH is released to the world, I’ve been arranging events, writing articles, and sharing advanced reader copies with book reviewers, bloggers, and show hosts.
Would you like a chance to win one of my review copies? Enter my giveaway below.
First, I’d like to invite you to The Ninja's Oath Virtual Book Club Event. I love interacting with readers, especially those who are excited enough to read my book as soon as it comes out.
Spoilers are guaranteed!
There will be so much to discuss: Lily’s precarious relationship with the assassin J Tran. Her sense of duty to Uncle, her father’s head cook and a former triad enforcer. Her family crisis in Los Angeles. The stunning history and backdrop of Shanghai. More action. More emotion. More mouthwatering food. Plus, the story of Sensei and why Lily’s ninja teacher left Japan.
Catch up on the series or dive straight into THE NINJA’S OATH. Save your spot at the free virtual book club event. Read early to discover and discuss how THE NINJA’S OATH ties up the four-book set and how I may or may not have left the door open for a fifth Lily Wong thriller.
Upcoming Events
If you’re in Ohio, please drop by the Columbus Book Festival and say hello. I’ll be discussing my genre bending novel DANCE AMONG THE FLAMES that spans forty years, three continents, and a past life in 1560 France, about a desperate mother who rises from the slums of Brazil to embrace dark Quimbanda magic in a quest for empowerment and revenge.
If you’re closer to Dayton, OH, drop by Barnes & Noble, Beavercreek, 2720 Towne Drive on Sunday, July 16th between 12 and 2pm. I’ll be signing THE NINJA BETRAYED (#3) and other Lily Wong books. I’ll have time to chat with readers and possibly read excerpts from THE NINJA’S OATH.
If I miss you in Ohio, you can catch me at Bouchercon in San Diego, Vroman’s Bookstore in Pasadena, and The Poisoned Pen in Scottsdale, AZ. Check my website for all Upcoming Events.
